Toowoomba is currently a great place to live - we should value, celebrate and protect this situation. However, history shows that things do not always remain the same. In light of the recent developments and tragedies around our region, the Goodwill Committee of Toowoomba agreed that the next step is to strengthen social resilience and harmony.
Social Resilience is defined as the timely capacity of individuals and groups–family, community, country, and enterprise–to be more generative during times of stability and to adapt, reorganize, and grow in response to disruption.
We are now experiencing a rapid change process. This seminar addresses the question of how we maintain the lifestyle we value while adapting to this rapid change. This seminar is the starting point for discussion on how we might work together to ensure that Toowoomba remains a safe, inclusive and prosperous multicultural city.
